BASF Junior Research Group Optimum Experimental Design
Head: Dr. Stefan Körkel
Short Description
The Junior Research Group Optimum Experimental Design is funded by BASF SE. Topic of the research are numerical methods for parameter estimation and optimum experimental design problems for applications from industrial practice.
A special focus is the development of efficient algorithms for nonlinear optimization and algorithmic differentiation for the arising non-standard optimal control problems in the context of models described by differential algebraic equation systems or partial differential equations.
An important aim is the development of efficient software which is directly usable by the industrial partners.
The JRG contributes to the teaching activities of the Graduate School both by basic student education and by specialized doctoral student training courses.
